The Mill Castlemaine is a place for foodies, art admirers, and seekers of the collectable and curious.
Starting as the Castlemaine Woollen Mill in 1875, since 2014 the site has transformed into a place for artisan manufacturing – a part of Castlemaine’s vibrancy.
Located opposite the Botanical Gardens at the northern end of town, the site is home to around 40 small businesses.
The food precinct features a Viennese coffee house, coffee roastery, winemakers, craft brewery and taproom, smallgoods maker, sourdough bread and pastries maker, fruit and veg market, chocolatier and, soon to be, cheesemakers.
The vintage precinct houses an expanse of markety-style stalls offering vintage bits and bobs, retro clothing, re-purposed, hand-made, second hand and antique goods. There are artists in residence in quirky studio spaces. Artisan makers create bespoke furniture, knives for the chef, bath soaks and essential oils, comfy organic undies, wool-centric clothing for all ages, and soaps.
The Mill Castlemaine is open 7 days a week. Hours and days vary by the individual business.
