RIAC began its work in 1984. We build the capacity and well-being of individuals with a disability, their families, carers, and the greater community, through our advocacy and support services.
We empower communities across 22 local government areas, spanning throughout Regional Victoria and Southern New South Wales. We work with a range of diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities, LGBTIQA+, financially and socially disadvantaged, older Australians, and those living in remote and rural communities.
Through our work and collaborative partnerships, we identify systemic issues to make a more inclusive community through changes to legislation, policies, and practices to ensure the human rights and interests of people with a disability are upheld.
If you would like information or support, our services are free, please call us on 03 5222 5499 or visit www.riac.org.au. You can also find us on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
